v Reading Incentive Program (Summer Reading Program) had a guest speaker (storyteller)

** President motioned to approve September minutes – approved
** VP COMMUNITY OUTREACH – LIZ DUNN
v Cindy Wade (volunteer chair) – Needs volunteers for Basket Bingo night (1 volunteer so far)
v Baking emails going out
v LIZ: newsletter, Friday 10/7/05 deadline, will distribute on 10/20
v KEVIN (webmaster): Asked to please put subject so he will not delete
v STORE PRODUCTS: Delivered envelopes for boxtop
v MEMBERSHIP: Have exceeded expectation so far, teachers need to submit envelope for membership, 40 teachers so far, 296 members for a total of 336 PTA members
v UPCOMING EVENTS: Sock Hop: Valentines Day tentatively, Spaghetti Dinner sometime in the spring
v EDUCATION: Steve reported that there are 6 classes/50 students, grant writing filled (Margaret), REFLECTIONS: 2 entries/due 10/28/05, CAPS: worked with Mr. Macrina for shows, author of Scooby Doo/March, Nana Pudding-Dennis Lee, MADD SCIENCE registration
** WAYS & MEANS
v IHOP results: $310.00
v BASKET BINGO: 10/22/2005/order form on web, 87 tickets sold so far, Juanita Thorn calling bingo, Connie Pruitt (movie night in December), need sponsor for food
v GIFT WRAP: Fran – orders are due early November, sales good so far, on-line can still order until December, $432.00 of internet orders, $37,314.00 worth of sales so far
v SPIRIT WEAR: T-shirt and magnets are still on sale, sweatpants in the works
v CRAFT FAIR: December 3, 2005, 29 vendors, food will be sold

v Guest Speaker : Amy L’Morel-Horset, Nutritionist
v CROCS CREED Presentation: encouraging students to make good personal decisions through teaching valued character qualities
v Kristy Sandello received a croc stock for her hard work with the presentation – she videotaped students responses to what croc creed is, recommended to use as an opener for movie night,
