PTA MINUTES

DECEMBER 6, 2005

 

 

·         Meeting was called to order @ 7:04 p.m. by J. Igo

·         Reflections awards after meeting

·         Thank you Mrs. Craft (Music Teacher) gave performance at Craft Fair

 

·         Dr. Owner introduced 4th grade team

·         Thanks to parents in the classrooms

·         WAWA Festival January 26, 2005

 

·         Motion to approve November minutes – Approved

·         Struble Sign up for meals,   PTA does 3 times per week

 

·         WAYS & MEANS:

 

·         Craft fair was lots of fun, chorus sang

·         Margaret – her neighbor donated items to set up in the lobby for donations for Lauren – in 4 hours $1,048.00 was raised and delivered to family

·         Mrs. Struble thanks everyone for the meals

·         Looking for parents to get involved for next year to shadow Jen.  New ideas are welcome, basket bingo volunteers needed for next year

 

·         EDUCATION:

 

·         Ms. Yin Mei Hueskes has 67 students

·         Survey was sent out, looking for German sign language

·         Interest in Chinese for Kingergarden in January

·         CAPS – assembly 2/8/2006 – Banana Pudding

·         Mad Science over in a few weeks

 

·         COMMUNITY OUTREACH:

 

·         Liz Dunn attended the cluster meeting and said it was truly an experience, very effective feedback, spoke highly of Betsy Finsky

·         Movie night 12/9/2005, showing Herbie Fully Loaded @6:30 p.m.  – serving pizza, popcorn & drinks – Mr. Roger Derflinger (1st grade parent) was our sponsor for the evening

·         Mr. & Mrs. Pruitt showed the move – thanks!!!

·         Newsletter deadline – December 9, 2005

·         VOLUNTEERS needed for movie night

·         Book Fair volunteers need to contact Jill Woodall

·         SOCK HOP scheduled for February 10, 2006 – Family Sock Hop – DJ has been lined up

·         PTA has 380 members at this time

 

·         TREASURER:

 

·         Craft Fair exceeded budget, made $300 on food

·         Additional gift-wrap money has come in.  Lavenders would like to offer us a 2% bonus ($800 estimate) with teacher incentive if we sign a contract for next year by 12/31/2005.  A motion to accept it was put out.  No second because it was recommended that we speak with Fran to ask her opinion since she was the head for this year.  Majority voted to accept Lavenders for next year.

·         4 collectibles were sold – made budget!!!!

·         Lavenders bill has been paid

·         Popcorn machine has been paid for

·         Reinburshment forms for parents can be used – line item on budget – needs Dr. Owners approval – can locate forms in PTA box

 

·         Meeting came to a close @ 7:31 p.m.

·         Reflections Ceremony (Denise Bolton) followed
